Why Choose Pet Euthanasia

Euthanasia is never an easy choice for a loving pet parent. At our animal hospital, we hope to guide you through the many decisions required when it's time for your pet to pass on. The procedure can often provide relief from needless suffering due to terminal illness or old age, and we do whatever we can to give you and your pet comfort in their last moments.

To be clear: We do not suggest pet euthanasia lightly, but we do ask that, if the time comes, you consider it for the sake of your pet’s needs.

You Can Talk to Us

If you’re having trouble making a decision about your pet’s end of life care, you can always turn to us for help. We will not make the decision for you, but we will give you all the information you need to make the best choice for your pet’s well-being. If their quality of life has diminished beyond improvement, it might be an appropriate time for us to discuss pet euthanasia.

Need additional support after the passing of your pet?

vsw

Lange Animal Hospital recommends Veterinary Social Work (VSW) for our clients should they struggle with a pets passing or need additional support during a difficult time. VSW created this as a means of helping animal owners facing difficult decisions and to provide a supportive environment.

The VSW_Pet Loss Support Group meets on the second Tuesday of every month—it is free and online for everyone. They also have a Daytime_Pet Support Group held on Mondays and Fridays from 2-3 pm and on Wednesdays from 11-12 pm.

VSW also has a helpline available from 10 am - 5 pm, Monday through Friday, for those who need to inquire about services, talk about a stressful situation, or just need some advice about anything veterinary-related.

The VSW team wants to support you in any way they can. Please give them a call at 865-755-8839 should you need additional support.
